EDM drilling machine is a kind of equipment that utilizes the principle of electric spark discharge for metal processing.

The working principle is to use the pulse spark discharge between the electrode wire and the workpiece to etch the metal. When working, the electrode wire under the action of pulse power supply and the workpiece to produce discharge, instantaneous high temperature so that the surface of the workpiece metal melting, vaporization and the working fluid away to form a small pit, the electrode and then automatically maintain the discharge gap, repeat the process, and gradually processed out the required shape.

Application scope of EDM drilling machine
Mould manufacturing: often used as the supporting equipment of EDM wire-cutting machine tools for processing threading holes to facilitate wire-cutting processing. Can also be processed chemical fiber spinnerets, spinneret spinneret holes, filter plate, sieve plate group holes, and so on.
Aerospace field: It is used to process the air film holes of engine blades, flame tube, group holes of heat insulation screen, etc. These holes are usually in the range of φ0.25 to φ3mm in diameter and have a large depth-to-diameter ratio.
Automobile manufacturing: processing of small holes in automobile wheel parts to improve the accuracy and quality of parts.
Hydraulic and pneumatic industry: Processing the oil and air holes of the valve body to ensure the normal operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Precision engraving: can be used for 3D surface engraving, processing jewelry, clocks and watches and other fine crafts, as well as the shell of electronic products, touch screen glass, etc.

Features of EDM drilling machine
Wide material applicability: suitable for processing stainless steel, hardened steel, hard alloy, copper, aluminum and other conductive materials.
High machining precision: the range of machining hole diameter is from Φ0.3 to Φ3.0mm, and the maximum depth-to-diameter ratio can reach 200:1 or even more than 300:1. The machining precision can reach ±0.005mm.
Processing efficiency is adjustable: the processing speed can reach 5-60mm per minute, but the processing finish is inversely proportional to the processing efficiency, and the general processing finish is about Ra2.0 micron.
Convenient operation: directly from the beveled and curved surfaces through the use of tap water as the working fluid. With electrode automatic trimming function, spindle lifting with fast up and down function, adjustable processing voltage, also with leaning edge positioning function.
High degree of automation: part of the equipment is controlled by industrial control machine, which can automatically complete the machining process of the group hole workpiece, and the group hole hole position is automatically programmed.
